| Dispersal Results |
The Auction could best be described as a resounding vote of confidence in the Australian alpaca industry and in well bred animals. Halcyon Alpaca Stud’s complete unreserved dispersal drew buyers from the United Kingdom, New Zealand and most states of Australia. A large crowd was in attendance on the property to witness spirited bidding and a complete clearance of all lots.

24/09/07 - Halcyon Sires offered for outright sale |
Carl and Wendy Dowd of Halcyon Alpaca Stud together with Christine and Nick Veltjens of Talca Alpacas are pleased to announce that their jointly owned sire Jolimont Giovanni will be offered for outright sale in the Halcyon Unreserved Dispersal Auction later this year. The outstanding lustre , density and softness of this macho have already attracted much attention, both domestically and internationally.

| 24/09/07 - Two SRS® Alpacas Australia Recommended Sires to go to NSW |
Due to existing contractual arrangements, Halcyon Alpaca Stud's remaining share of ILR Peruvian Hemingway's Protégé has been taken up by joint owners, Bob and Judy Richardson of Clearview Alpaca Stud. Protégé, imported from USA by Carl & Wendy in 2000, has left a firm imprint on the Halcyon herd consistently passing on his incredible softness of handle and exceptional density, replacing himself many times over. We wish Bob and Judy the very best of luck and know that Protégé will have a just as great an impact within their herd.

23/09/07 – Success at Royal Melbourne Show |
Congratulations to Therese Badcock and family of Serena Lodge Alpaca Stud, on winning Supreme Champion Huacaya at Royal Melbourne Show. The winning exhibit, Serena Lodge Prince Artdale is sired by Halcyon Artisan an excellent sire who has been on stud duties in Tasmania for the past 4 years. Also sired by Artisan is Halcyon Artifice, a hembra among our ET donor ranks offered for sale as Lot 16 in the upcoming Halcyon auction. Artifice has inherited her sire's excellent frame and fleece, showing good density, good alignment and a deep crimp.
